We're two smart women and our smart friends

About the Hosts:
Amy AughinbaughBorn and raised in Texas, Amy is too curious for her own good, has tried to "quit the news" multiple times but can't help herself, and managed to use numerous educational experiences as opportunities to travel. She's visited five continents and countless countries, including briefly living in Milan, Italy. Her favorite place in the world is her family's farm in rural Missouri.
Amy currently works as a business analyst for a philanthropic organization in Dallas and previously served as a Teach For America corps member in Dallas' Oak Cliff neighborhood. She holds a BA in Art History from Rhodes College and an MBA & MA in Arts Management from Southern Methodist University. What Makes Her Awesome: She's a liberal arts graduate (and damn proud of it) with a resume to match. She's also currently trying (and failing) to improve her yoga and mindfulness practice. You're not supposed to judge yourself. That's part of her problem. |
Kari StricklandKari is Texas-born, was partially raised in Denmark, and is now a proud Midwestern transplant. She's a fearless traveler - always willing to check out a secret midnight market or two, an unapologetic nerd, and a fan of old movies. She's traveled to 28 countries (including North Korea) across all 7 continents and is playing a losing battle with keeping the number of countries visited equal to her age.
Kari works in consumer insights for General Mills in Minneapolis. She has also worked at the International Rescue Committee in Dallas and served in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica for 3 years. She holds a BA in History from Smith College and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. What Makes Her Awesome: She's fluent in Spanish (complete with a Costa Rican god-kid), and is learning Portuguese by reading the news in Portuguese each morning. She's also collecting Deadpool comics with her newly found disposable income. |
